Passages

• Every level includes 10 different passages and a journal cover.
• Levels D-I each have 5 nonfiction passages and 5 fiction passages.

Fluency

• Each passage has three "happy faces" at the bottom. These are for promoting fluency. Each time the student reads the passage, they color or mark a smiley face. Students are instructed to read the passage three times before completing the comprehension component.

Comprehension

• Each passage includes two reading comprehension questions. One is multiple choice and one requires a written response.
